Amish Grace - DVD Now Available!
Are some things unforgivable?
Why do we have to forgive?
Amish Grace is based on the powerful true story of the Pennsylvania Amish schoolhouse shooting. When the Amish community rises up to forgive and offer support to the confused and grieving shooter's wife, a grieving Amish mother, refuses to forgive. Her very faith and desire to remain in her community are tested.
As you are watching the story unfold, one can't help but ask the same questions as the grieving mother does. What I loved about this movie was that it showed that receiving forgiveness is just as hard as giving it. The shooter's wife struggled so much as she felt guilt at what her husband had done. This concept might seem foreign to some, but I can attest that guilt by association happens. The grieving mother didn't see just see a woman in pain, she saw the wife of the one who murdered her daughter.
Amish Grace is very well done. The acting is so believable that this could almost be seen as a live as it had happened events. Even though this is an movie that deals with such heavy and painful issues, it is one that could be watched over and over again. There might just be something that you missed the first time.
I have to offer a warning. Everyone I know who has watched this for the first time cries. Hard. If you don't like to cry over movies, don't worry none will notice you crying. They will be to busy crying as well.
A GREAT MOVIE!!!!!

In Memory of MaLinda Sapp
MaLinda Sapp passed away this Thursday of colon cancer. The wife of Marvin Sapp, she co-pastored Lighthouse with her husband here in Grand Rapids. MaLinda was an influential speaker, a woman of the community, a loving mother of three, and family to so many more. Most of all, she was a woman after God's own heart. She lived her life for Christ, and though we mourn for her loss, we know her joy in going home.
We at Baker Book House extend our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the Sapp family and to her community at Lighthouse. Please, take just a moment to lift up the Sapp family in prayer with us.
Here's how our local news station honored her...

Y'Anna - A Rising Star in Gospel Music
Y'anna, winner of BET's Sunday's Best Second Season, breaks out with her first project. With her strong beautiful voice, she sings from her heart about her personal journey, as each song reflects on the processes of the Promise. The Promise is about preparation, the journey and the ability to dream. We spend our entire lives preparing, going through the ups and downs, highs and lows, and the uncertainty of whether our dreams will become a reality. In this case, Y'anna's dream of music comes true as she delivers this solid album. On this diverse sounding ablum, Y'anna's influences become apparent, both from her background singing for artists like Stephen Hurd and Jennifer Lopez, and her love of music from artists like Aretha Franklin and the Clark Sisters. If you are a fan of artists like Mary Mary and Mandisa, you will love this project just like I do.
Check out this and be blessed as I was in hearing it...The Promise
Sorry that it is alittle slow in loading, but like they say "somethings are worth waiting for."
