New Releases - February 28, 2012

Today's new releases include Christ for the Nations, Kutless, Samestate, Sent by Ravens, and Great Worship Songs...

37 - Christ for the Nations - Integrity Music - Provident
This "37th" project from Christ for the Nations Institute marks the beginning for their first label partnership in the school's rich 41 year history.  CFNI has given birth to business and global government leaders as well as worship leaders and artists like Russ Taff, Marty Nystrom (As The Deer), Kari Jobe, Thomas Walker, Walker Beach, Kevin Jonas (Jonas Brothers father and manager), David Moore (Gateway Worship) and more.
CFNI has been and will continue to be fertile ground for worship leaders and songwriters who are saturated in its environment of passionate worship, prayer and Bible study.  Integrity Music is excited to join in harvesting this fertile ground for the Kingdom of God; blessing the Church with the songs and sounds of worship birthed in young hearts from around the world.

Believer - Kutless - BEC Recordings - EMICMG
Kutless has continued to make massive impacts in the last several years for their worship-based album Strong Tower. Their most recent album, It Is Well, has made an impact with the hit song “What Faith Can Do.” The bands new album Believer continues to press this band further with songs that transcend listeners.

The Alignment - Samestate - Sparrow Records - EMICMG
Samestate takes each member’s disparate musical influences – be it a whole bunch of rock and pop, a touch of Americana, a smidge of country – and merges them into a sound that’s infectious and approachable.

Mean What You Say - Sent by Ravens - Tooth&Nail Records - EMICMG
With their sophomore effort Mean What You Say, Sent By Ravens have taken their driving modern rock sound and rounded it out, expanded its diversity while staying true to a base of powerful vocals and soaring guitar tones. The follow-up to 2010's Our Graceful Words, produced in Nashville with Rob Hawkins and mixed by Ainslie Grosser, is a more polished collection of songs that contain moments that are sometimes delicate and sometimes raw. The results are dynamic rock anthems that drive home the meaningful lyrics they're paired with.

Great Worship Songs for Easter Live  - Great Worship Songs Praise Band  - EMICMG
Great Worship Songs for Easter delivers an authentic live worship experience, recorded live with worship leader, Travis Cottrell, featuring 9 powerful songs perfectly formatted for Easter morning. Including seven new compositions, along with the newly rewritten classic hymn “Just As I Am,” the massively popular “Hosanna,” by Kirk Franklin, and Hillsong’s “Stronger.” This high-energy praise and worship Easter event is built on the hope and confidence that Jesus is alive! Because of this truth we have every reason to worship and celebrate this Easter.
Great Worship Songs for Easter is ideal for churches which use passionate praise and worship music to minister to their congregation and community. It is our sincere prayer that this bold vertical expression of love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will make your Easter celebration relevant and life-changing for everyone in your church!

Kutless has continued to make massive impacts in the last several years being awarded RIAA Gold Certification for their worship-based album Strong Tower in addition to Gold Certification for Long-Form video Live From Portland. Their most recent album, It Is Well, has made an impact with the hit song “What Faith Can Do.” This single topped the 2010 Mediabase Christian AC Song of the Year, and in addition to Mediabase, “What Faith Can Do” was the No. 2 Billboard Hot Christian Song of the Year. Kutless was also named the No. 7 Billboard Christian Artist of the Year, and It Is Well was the No. 10 Billboard Christian Album of the Year.

This February 2012 brings the bands new album Believer and continues to press this band further into the AC/CHR market and growing their consumer reach with songs that transcend listeners. This album was produced by Dave Lubben (producer of It Is Well) and Christopher Stevens/ David Garcia (Mandisa, Sanctus Real, TobyMac).

The first single "Carry Me To The Cross" is a worshipful cry and reminder about God's never-ending faithfulness and grace.

To me this song is also a great song to begin Lent with...

J'SON releases 4th Album!

Growing hurts. From working out, to just growing up. The body stretches to previously unknown limits. The process to become more mature and developed is a beautiful thing, yet often such growth is completely unreachable without pain. The way to maturity in Christ is often laced with hurt and pain. It is from this tension and reality, that Json presents his latest musical offering, "Growing Pains". Walk with J'SON as he seeks to communicate the complex reality of growing in Christ.

This an excellent work as one would expect from J'SON, but the quality of it reminds me more of his first release. If you are a fan of Lecrae or Trip Lee, you will also be a fan of J'SON.

Laura Story Wins the Grammy of Best Christian Contemporary Song of the Year

Laura Story has over this past year have blessed many with her incredible talent of songwriting and singing.
To me her winning the Grammy is a way that we can thank her for sharing her gift with us.
I recognize that it is hard sometimes in life to share with other the hurt that you are going through, and it always surprises me that when you have the courage to share God works in ways that I could never had imagined.
Here in here own words is the story behind this song that has blessed so many, including me.
