New Releases - 7/1/08

Relient K - The Birds and the Bee Sides
Introducing... • 26 total tracks • 13 brand new songs • 13 B-Sides (never released to retail) • Confirmed headliner for entire 2008 Warped Tour • Confirmed on Toby Mac’s Winter Wonder Slam 2008 tour • 3 RIAA certified gold records • Over 2.5 million units sold, Word Distribution welcomes Gotee Records and Relient K!!! The Bird and the Bee Sides begins with a baker’s dozen of original new tunes collected under the moniker of The Nashville Tennis EP. With all five members writing and taking turns on lead vocals, it’s perhaps Relient K’s most diverse effort to date, including Thiessen’s alt-country “At Least We Made It This Far,” bassist John Warne’s “The Last, The Lost, The Least,” which is explosive both sonically and in its social commentary, and new drummer Ethan Luck’s punk rock reggae “No Reaction,” to name but a few highlights. As for the “Bee Sides” Relient K remixed and re-mastered 13 tracks, including an acoustic version of hit single “Who I Am Hates Who I’ve Been”. There are also tunes from The Vinyl Countdown, The Employee of the Month EP, The Creepy EP, The Apathetic EP and, as Thiessen puts it, “a ton of other stuff that you can’t even find on the internet – at least not yet.”

Gold City - Moment Of Truth
For over 20 years, Gold City has been considered one of the top groups in Southern Gospel music. With more than 12 number one songs, including the Gospel classic “Midnight Cry,” their impact on fans and accolades from the industry are countless. But it’s the individual lives touched and sharing the message of hope that keeps them going. Recently, out on the Preach the Word tour, Gold City played more than 200 dates, inspiring audiences with the hit singles “Truth is Marching On,” “I’m Rich” and “Preach the Word.” On the heels of their last album Revival, Gold City has teamed once again with award-winning producer Michael Sykes, renowned for his work with the Gaither Vocal Band, the Oak Ridge Boys, and the Martins. This new CD is packed with diversity. From the ballad “By Your Grace, For Your Glory” to the patriotic, soon-to-be classic, “I Love This Land” to the standard “Cast Your Bread upon the Water,” Gold City has never given such variety. A new album, a fresh sound...the tradition of excellence continues.

Joel Auge - On the Blue
Joel Auge (pronounced “Ozhay”) hails from Ontario, Canada, where he serves as a worship leader for The Meeting House family of churches and also runs his own digital marketing company. Although On the Blue marks his solo debut, Auge is not new to Christian music. He has been performing and recording since 1999 with the bands Capstone, Six Days and Hewit. For On the Blue, Auge stays true to his worship calling, delivering 12 songs that are vertically inspired and deeply introspective. All are delivered on a canvas of art-rock, folk and pop.
